The Dukes of Hume feature three Nasvhille natives, including brother and sister Jackson and Jacy Bruck. As you’ll hear, they’re “old soul rock’n’roll” with a serious drive. The band’s clearly got ambition. In roughly a year, The Dukes have put the band together, won Music City
Mayhem, played Live on The Green and are now preparing to play “Let
Freedom Sing! Music City July 4th” to expected crowds of 200,000. That ambition is clearly matched in their music.
The Dukes’ first single, “Already Gone,” off of their upcoming album, The Golden Road, has a pop sensibility for 2019 and the kind of sass you’d expect from 1999. This is a song that feels like good, clean, fun but is by no means sanitized, as Jackson delivers a snarl along with his tale of jilted love. The single was recorded at The Sound Shelter in Franklin, TN. It was produced by Tres Sasser, engineered by Joe Costa (worked with Ben Folds), and mastered by Richard Dodd (worked with Tom Petty, Melissa Etheridge, Brooks and Dunn).
