I’ve been a fan of Tucker Riggleman since his previous project, Bishops, and what I’ve heard so far from The Cheap Dates is going to keep me paying attention for a long time.
Today, we’re treated to the first single from the band’s upcoming album Alive and Dying Fast. And damn — if that first lyric doesn’t pull you in right away. “Void” is that perfect combination of nostalgia and ennui that Riggleman has put a lock on. With some of his best songwriting to date, this is going to be quite the album.
Alive and Dying Fast was tracked, mixed, and produced by esteemed producer Duane Lundy (Ringo Starr, Ian Noe, Joe Pug, Justin Wells) at his Lexington Recording Company in Lexington, KY. The finishing touches were added by Justin Perkins (The Replacements, Screeching Weasel, Tommy Stinson) at Mystery Room Mastering in Milwaukee, WI.
The video was filmed and edited by Cheap Dates drummer M Tivis Clark and features are a VERY GOOD friend.
Vinyl bundle pre-orders will begin on Friday, December 4th via WarHen
Records.
