Katie Pruitt Teams Up With LGBTQ+ Youth Creative Conference — April 3rd!

One day, it’ll be easy to be a queer teen, but 2021 in particular has been tough on trans youth as conservatives have relentlessly made their participation in school sports their latest wedge issue. But there are some small places of refuge, like Southern Word’s Write With Pride program provides a safe space for teens in Middle Tennessee to write, share, and shape their identity. The conference, on April 3rd from 10am – 5:30pm, will feature performances from excellent queer artists, including Katie Pruitt.

Here’s Write With Pride’s invitation to teens:

We invite middle Tennessee LGBT+ teens to join us for our first conference exploring art and activism, “Creative Justice,” scheduled for Saturday, April 3, 2021, from 10am-5:30pm on zoom. This conference will feature workshops on poetry, zine-writing, and activism, along with a keynote address by Brittany Paschall and musical performances by Katie PruittGifted Queen, and DJ Jane Dupree. This event is FREE and includes free lunch via DoorDash for the first 40 registrants. Register today to save your spot!
