Edwin wowed me a few weeks ago with their song “Face in the Chrome,” so I wanted to make sure to feature more music from their debut album West. On “Two Sparrows,” the pair are joined by The Morning Yells in their affectionate, Williamsburg-ized cover of the Tana Tucker classic.
The gauzy synths and laconic vocals make us feel that the couple in the song are protected, affectionately watched over by mysterious guardians. There’s also a certain melancholy, hinting at the couple’s fate.
And just for funsies, Edwin also collaborated with Samantha Crain, one of my favorites, so make sure to take a listen to “Big River” as well.
