Canadian singer-songwriter Andrew Waits is back at it with another upbeat and raw single: “Dopamine.” His last song “Ain’t Goin’ Out Like That” was a breakup anthem indebted to Springsteen and the E Street Band. This time around, “Dopmaine” takes us to the beginning of the story. It’s an Americana tune with a bass-heavy, post-grunge 90s rock mix. It all works intoxicatingly, a summery anthem with enough substance to chew on.
“Dopamine,” is about a person who can’t believe how lucky they are that they’re totally over-the-moon in love with someone who makes them want to be their best self, to be better, even though that person loves them for who they are.
