Support LGBTQ+ Youth and Write With Pride THIS Sunday! Special Guest Emily Saliers!

Unfortunately, the recent tide of anti-trans legislation is washing up on Tennessee. Following on the success of last year’s fundraiser, LGBTQ+ youth group Write With Pride is hosting another friendraiser on Sunday, March 13th. Here’s what they have to say:

We are excited to be kicking off the Write with Pride Friendraiser on Sunday, March 13! We want to invite you to join us for a memorable night where attendees have an opportunity to learn more about Write with Pride, witness the impact that our outreach has on young writers and teachers through their personal testimonies, as well as enjoy speeches, performances and great food! We have the privilege of hosting our Friendraiser at the Walnut House as a hybrid event with our partner Poetry in the Boro and sponsors Bridgestone’s BPROUD and BBOLD. A Poetry in the Boro open mic will close out the evening for those in-person. You can join us in-person in Murfreesboro or virtually from anywhere. Please come spend some time with us on March 13th, 2022 from 5:30PM – 7:30PM (CST), in order to learn how to assist in the program’s growth and development!

Write with Pride aims to create safe, supportive spaces where Tennessee LGBT+ youth can write and share to process experiences, shape identity, and build community as they come of age; equip Tennessee LGBT+ youth with the skills to represent their experiences and advocate for themselves through public presentations at events, open mics, and conferences; and host an annual conference centered around writing and sharing where they can build community, celebrate their lives, and learn from each other and leaders in the field of LGBT+ youth development.
