Dead Professional (or, more affectionately, Dead Pro) is back at the game — at last. He’s one of the artists whom I’ve followed since what must be the very beginning of this blog. It’s so exciting to see that he’s bringing his swooning country-as-interpreted-through-New-Wave back to all of us.
His latest release is an updated version of “Damned Up River,” which is certainly a more countri-fied version of the 2016 version. Here, Dead Pro’s warm and weary voice takes center stage, sweeping us along with his pent-up emotion.
