This is a short one, but that’s because my favorite masked duo Bad Flamingo know that all good cowboys are people of few words. On “Mama Raised You Right” the duo strays from their typical too-cool-for-school loops and brings in a horn section fit for the best spaghetti westerns. Normally cool and collected, Bad Flamingo brings a bit of pique to their delivery in “Mama Raised You Right.” As always, Bad Flamingo reminds us that country music can be the epitome of cool…if your mama raised you right.
The mysterious duo provided this band bio:
Bad Flamingo are two nobodies from nowhere particular who don’t do anything for any good reason.
Singing cowboys that face the door when they sit and lean when they stand.
A red rose tango in the dust. Scratches and slaps and spurs.
As for the song, they offered this insight:
“Fare thee well to the departed that fled before we even got started.”
