HEY! LISTEN: Brother Starling — “Somewhere Down the Line”

It’s not just because I went to college there, but I have to say that Philadelphia is my favorite music city. Whether it’s punk or Americana and everything in between, the streets are practically vibrating with grit and rhythm. Brother Starling is the latest in a long line of fantastic bands from the City of Brotherly Love that know show to spin a yarn, drop a beat, and get everyone shaking their butt. “Somewhere Down the Line” is an energetic song of wistful romance, the kind of rock’n’roll that everyone thinks is dead. Check it out below.

Drawing inspiration from rock and roll’s past and American roots music, Philadelphia’s Brother Starling takes you on a journey through Laurel Canyon with songs that capture the essence of artists such as Neil Young, Wilco, Fleetwood Mac, The Band, and Dawes. Geremiah Giampa’s heartfelt vocals weave above the impassioned guitar and keyboard interplay of Mike Rusch and Joe Ryan as the grooves of Brian Finucane and Tom Mellon solidly drive the band forward.

“This is a song about getting into a relationship knowing that the past will ruin any chance of a future,” the band tells Adobe & Teardrops.
