Red dirt artist Hayden Haddock is blazing a path on the country scene. The Texas A&M senior clocks more than 150 tour dates a year and has recently opened for artists including Randall King, Steve Wariner, Kevin Fowler, Casey Donahew, Roger Creager and more. Gearing up to release a string of new singles with hit producer/songwriter and Haddock’s manager Trent Willmon at the helm, the young talent is on an unprecedented trajectory. The first taste of Haddock’s new music will come on October 15th with the release of “Wind It Down.” The new project follows Haddock’s early 2020 Red Dirt Texas album release which has produced 3 Top 15 Texas Country singles.
Currently boasting more than 3 million streams, Haddock has tracks featured on Spotify’s Texas Music Now, Apple Music’s Don’t Mess With Texas and Amazon Music’s Texas Forever playlists. Haddock further solidified his trajectory when he was awarded New Male Vocalist of the Year at the leading Texas award show, the 2020 T3R Awards.
Name a perfect song and tell us why you feel that way.
“I Got Dreams” by Steve Wariner. I just think every aspect from the guitar lick to the background vocals is great.
Is there a professional “bucket list” item you would love to check off?
For me, I have a venue bucket list. I’ve been fortunate enough to play quite a few of them on that list, but still have a lot to go!
How do you kill the long hours in the van?
We watch a lot of movies/Netflix!
Who would you love to collaborate with? Why?
I would love to collaborate with someone like Cody Johnson! I’ve been a big fan since I was in high school and think all of his music is great.
How do you manage having a good time at shows, but also trying to stay mentally and physically fit?
We do our best to eat reasonably healthy (when we can) and squeeze a workout in at the hotel or something if they have a gym. I have take extra care of myself having Type 1 Diabetes.
