Megan Knight’s new song is like catnip to me: some meaty guitar riffs, confident attitude, and just a freakin’ good groove. As bouncy as the song is, it’s rooted in a deeper conversation. “We all have demons and trauma in our lives, writes Knight. “‘My Drama’ is a song about finding the one person that can deal with all of that, the absolute depth of your soul inside and out.”
Who would you love to collaborate with? Why?
Chris Stapleton because I love the soul in his vocal delivery and his writing.
Who are some of your musical influences?
I literally have hundreds of influences; they change on th daily but Dave Matthews Band, Damien Rice, Glen Hansard and Dave Grohl initially inspired me to learn acoustic guitar and write.
Do you have any songwriting tips you can share?
If you’re ever facing writer’s block, read books, watch film/tv or get into meditation. Naturally, that always gives me the spark I need to bring out my creativity.
What’s the first concert you ever attended? What do you remember about it?
NSYNC and Busta Rhymes when I was three. I honestly don’t remember anything but my mom said I couldn’t get enough of Busta Rhymes.
What’s the best way a fan can support you?
I would love to meet and see you at some shows! Feel free to check out my tour dates on my website and follow along on my Instagram and Twitter. Thank you for having me!
