Mike Vermeil’s single “Bear Trap” is nothing short of a delight. The song cheekily refers to that awkward stage of the breakup where you look at each other and think, “Well…maybe we should give it one more shot.” Complete with a rollicking alt-country beat, this is like if Roger Clyne was a bit angrier, and was a lot more punk.
Mike doesn’t have much to share about himself, other than he’s from Philly. But here’s what he wrote about “Bear Trap”:
The goal of this song was to create a fast paced train chugging type song with more modern elements supporting it – like bouncy synths and complimentary electric guitar leads. It was the first song I’ve recorded with stereo drums – as in two different drums takes on both sides of the ear.
Love this guy! Great music.
